Dr. Sherry started in practice after finishing a residency program at Temple University where he was noted with exemplary remarks in surgical training. He then did a year-long anterior segment fellowship. This is where Dr. Sherry learned phacoemulsification, at a time when only 3% of the country was doing it. Through his training, Dr. Sherry saw the evolution of cataract surgery by learning first intracapsular, extracapsular and then phacoemulsification techniques.
Dr. Sherry started his private practice in Wilmington, Delaware back in 1986. Since then he has been an integral part of the Ophthalmology community. He served his community for many years as a board member of the Delaware Academy of Ophthalmology, Counselor and President to the Medical Society of Delaware, and Counselor to the American Academy of Ophthalmology. It has been noted by members of the aforementioned boards that Dr. Sherry is a well respected doctor and is loved by his patients. In his spare time, Dr. Sherry enjoys traveling with his family, riding his motorcycle, and looks forward to this new chapter in Arizona.
